Terror Jr Supplies The Bops With Debut EP

Terror Jr became the mysterious pop group of my dreams when they dropped their first single on a Kylie Jenner glosses commercial earlier this year and now we have a bop filled EP to get us through the rest of 2016 (The election coming to an end is reason enough to party our fears away right?). Bop City is an eight track EP containing back to back (you guessed it) bops that range in mood from the lowkey intro “Little White Bars” to the rhythmic knockout “Say So”.

The world still has no clue who lead singer Lisa Terror is (I’m still hoping it’s Kylie because picture Kylie Jenner selling out stadiums all 2017) but with plans to drop two more EPs to make Bop City a trilogy and a tour most likely starting in the U.S., the mystery around Terror Jr will be revealed soon. I wrote about Terror Jr’s first four bangers in a previous post so I’ll get into the four new tracks. “Pray” is hands down my favorite new track from Bop City and easily one of the most catchy tracks on the EP. Leaning on the naughty side, “Pray” is a chilly banger with an attention grabbing hook, “Preach for me daddy / pray for the pussy / I can be your daddy / hook me like a caddy.”

“Super Powers” is a complicated love story, with two people vying for Lisa’s heart but she doesn’t know who is going to get her love. Bop City ends on a somber note with the heartbreaking “Truth”. Each song on Bop City has a level of auto-tune to it, masking Lisa’s voice enough to conceal the identity of this mystery singer but that doesn’t take away from the infectious electro pop production and commanding yet slightly random lyrics. Terror Jr don’t take themselves serious and every playful element of their music adds to the fun of having the EP on repeat.

So if you somehow missed the delicious grapes Terror Jr dropped last month, it’s not too late to get hooked on this entertaining trio. I’ll be patiently waiting for Bop City Vol. 2 Kylie (or whoever you are).
