IGGY SZN is quickly approaching! After taking 2015 off to work on her second album, plan her wedding and hone her equestrian skills, Iggy Azalea is back with a new single and it has me very excited for Digital Distortion. “Azillion” has Azalea focused on the commas and representing for the pretty girls making bank, “Now what’s a milli to a billion / Forget a billi keep it trillion / We looking pretty in the building / Looking like a trillion / Feeling like a zillion / Now what’s a milli to a billion?” The way Iggy is spitting reminds me of how she sounded during her mixtape days (Ignorant Art, TrapGold) and those tapes were the reasons why I wanted the Aussie hitmaker to blow up so track is working for me. The production is on another level with Azalea teaming up with D.R.U.G.S, the team responsible for some of her hottest previous work. The pulsing synths combined with the hard trap beat and a confident flow equals a hot comeback. I can’t wait to see what Iggy Azalea has in store for 2016.
In December Iggy gave her twitter fans (I think they’re called Ratz now) some updates on the upcoming record. Besides features everything else is complete. Bebe Rexha joined her in the studio for a last minute hook writing session and it went pretty well.
she also convinced me to ugly-sing and it turned out great. i felt very out of my comfort zone, which is always when the good stuff happens.

While we’ll have to wait a little later for the lead single “Team” to drop, more buzz singles and viral videos are on the horizon this month. Azalea also let a fan know that Digital Distortion will be 20% meaningful, 70% bop and 10% ratchet, I’m digging the percentages Igs.Iggy’s finance Nick Young also gave a bold statement about the album to Billboard:
Aw man, it’s gonna be the best album of 2016. I got my Swaggy P feature on it so that’s why it’s gon’ blow up. [Laughs] I see how hard she be in the studio and I heard a couple songs. Couple surprises and a lot of features on there. It’ll be dope.
What do you think of “Azillion”? Are you ready for Iggy Azalea’s comeback? Let me know in the comments!
