I’ve been slacking to epic proportions when it comes to writing about music and updating people on my time in London. Expect a flood of posts about both subjects when I come back to the states in a few days and life slows down a bit but until then check out a playlist of songs I’m currently playing on a loop. As always links to the playlists can be found below through popular streaming site Spotify and personal favorite Tidal (#TidalForAll). Let me know what else I should be listening to right now, I mean if you want to…no pressure.
Shoulda Been There (Featuring B.o.B.) – Sevyn
Out of all songs that can be found on this playlist, the two made by Sevyn have definitely played the most along with the rest of her EP Shoulda Been There (Part 1). I’ve been riding for the talented artist since her RichGirl days and I’m happy she released some album quality music before her official debut makes its way to your headphones sometime this year. “Shoulda Been There” became one of my favorite tracks replaying the lyric video when it first came out. The title track is a kiss off to the guy who lost his chance for another shot with Sevyn. Sevyn is sounding amazing on the track, the lyrics are on point and I love what B.o.B. adds to the track. Get into it!
Here – Alessia Cara
Do you know those songs that you didn’t know you needed in your life and after you hear them you can’t completely process how perfectly it translates to your life? Well Alessia Cara’s “Here” is that song for me. The Canadian songstress has been showcasing her gift through YouTube covers for a couple years and hard work seems to be paying off. With a signed deal and a debut album in the works I suggest you give Alessia a listen before she starts popping everywhere. Bonus: Alessia stopped by Ryan Seacrest’s radio show and did a dope cover of The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face”, you should definitely give it a listen!
SMUCKERS – Tyler, The Creator
Tyler, The Creator’s latest album Cherry Bomb has been out for a while now and I haven’t given it the love or attention it deserves. A couple days ago I played “SMUCKERS” after not hearing it in a couple months and I haven’t stopped playing it since. Tyler is prime in this track plus the Kanye West and Lil Wayne appearances don’t hurt. If you haven’t heard this track yet, stop what you’re doing and get familiar.
