Yoooo itsmarcelj and today’s Thursday so you know what that means (#THROWBACKTRACKTHURSDAY). Today I want to take it back to the mid 2000s with a track by Snoop Dogg also now known as Snoop Lion (But who really calls him that?)….

Now if you were born after 2004 or don’t have any knowledge of popular 90s rappers you might have heard “Drop It Like It’s Hot” on those Sun Drop commercials that use to come on all the time.

But back to the main topic, “Drop It Like It’s Hot”  produced by The Neptunes reminds me of Neptune’s ability to make music that still sounds great after a decade of being released. The simple beat layered with minimalist production meshes perfectly with Snoop’s laid back flow.

With a feature from Pharrell, tongue clicks used as a beat that gets stuck in your head and lyrics that you can’t help but rap along to make this song an obvious hit and remains one of my favorite Snoop tracks of all time.
