All right folks, new post means another look into my love of music and maybe some insight on my life (If you care about that part). I’ve always had a love for girl groups, it’s kind of funny looking at that written out but I can explain…
When I was younger 8-12 age range, my parents really influenced some of the music I listened to than and now. I remember my dad always playing R&B / Soul artists whether it be En-Vouge, Ginuwine or Keith Sweat. Looking through my mom’s tape collection back then you could find Boyz 2 Men albums, SWV singles or anything else that was popular in that time. I use to really be drawn to hearing people sing with emotion even though I most likely had no idea what they were talking about. Hearing groups like TLC or Destiny’s Child was so interesting to me, maybe it was the lyrics that were catchy (and made little sense to me at times), or the fusing of pop, rap and r&b to create something that makes you want to dance… hell it could’ve just been the music videos I saw on tv but either way all of these artists still seem to influence artists today, which brings me back to the topic at hand: Love Dollhouse
I remember hearing this group buzzing with a single a couple years ago called “Never Be Me” and being interested in hearing what else they could do. Now with a slight change in the line up, it seems like Ryan, Chelsea and Jasmine are ready to take the music scene by storm with their new single “Can I”.
With an infectious sample from Shaggy’s classic “Luv Me, Luv Me” (Or did Shaggy sample that too?) the song has a chill vibe to it that plays like a summer hit and makes you want to keep it on repeat. The video adds to the replay value showing the group can also kill it on the dance floor.
With Russell Simmons and Steve Rifkind’s co-sign and their being apart of the dope label / idea All Def Digital (which is another blog post in itself) I’m ready to hear these refreshing voices impact the charts.
